They were outstanding. Super responsive without talking to some robot to schedule. They shot right over to the house right away when our AC wasn't working. You want to use them for super quick and great service!
Great company to work with! I felt like they were fair and honest. They were great at communicating with me and getting out to our place fast and working around our schedule! Will be using them again in the future!
I HIGHLY recommend going with Vortex Air HVAC. My original heater in my house (1989) was having issues. I watched a ton of videos and did everything to get it back and working with one caveat. Vortex came and took a look and realized it was a simple quick fix. He didn't charge me anything for it after I insisted I paid him. He then proceeded to to a quick diagnostic to verify everything was working correctly for free. Fantastic customer service. That simple act has won me over as a lifetime customer.
We contacted Vortex Air HVAC when we were installing a vent fan above our stove. The Vortex team came out, climbed up in our attic to cut a hole in our roof to install the ducting for it. Not only did they weather seal around their work, they cleaned the entire mess and was very friendly and professional. Now every year we have them come out and prep our furnace and A/C for the seasons. Thank you Vortex Air for excellent, professional and friendly service everytime. 😁
Quick response time, very knowledgeable, and great pricing. I definitely will be calling vortex next time!
I’ve waited a few weeks to post this review pending my full experience with Vortex air. Recently we had our ac go out, I had multiple big name and a few smaller companies out they all played the same game! Send a “tech” they tell me it’s bad few hours to a day later another “sales” man shows up to quote it.. I called these guys as I had just a coworker refer them. The Owner answered the phone and then showed up to my house within an hour! He then proceeded to give me all the options to even repair! He made thoughtful and valid suggestions on what we can really do to improve air quality as well. Day of install shows up and they were on time and had it all changed and running same day! Pricing was very competitive and not like getting the wind knocked out of you like all the other prices I got. 5 stars for service another 5 for the install and another 5 for the peace of mind we will have coming these next seasons. Thank you vortex!

Furnace Maintenance Service
Our comprehensive furnace maintenance service is a detailed, multi-point tune-up designed to keep your heating system in peak condition. We believe that proactive care is the key to a safe and reliable winter. Our service begins the moment our certified technician arrives at your home. We will start by discussing any concerns you may have about your furnace’s performance. Then, we begin a thorough visual inspection of the entire system, from the furnace itself to the thermostat and the visible ductwork. This initial overview helps us get a complete picture of your system’s health. We service all makes and models of furnaces with the same level of expertise.
A central part of our furnace maintenance visit is a deep cleaning of the system’s core components. We will remove and clean the burners, ensuring they are free from rust and debris that can cause poor combustion and reduced efficiency. We will also clean the flame sensor, which is a critical safety component that ensures the gas valve shuts off if the burners fail to light. The blower motor compartment is also cleaned to remove accumulated dust, which helps the motor run cooler and more efficiently. A clean furnace is a more efficient and longer-lasting furnace. We are meticulous in our cleaning process.
The safety of your family is our number one priority. Our furnace tune-up includes a series of critical safety inspections. We will perform a detailed examination of your furnace’s heat exchanger. We look for any cracks or signs of stress, as a damaged heat exchanger can leak dangerous carbon monoxide into your home. We also test all of the system’s safety controls, including the high-limit switch, to ensure they are functioning correctly and will shut the system down in an unsafe condition. We use sensitive electronic equipment to test the air in your home for any presence of carbon monoxide.
Our maintenance service also includes a thorough check of all electrical and mechanical components. We will inspect and tighten all electrical connections to prevent failures. We test the voltage and amperage of the blower motor to ensure it is operating within the manufacturer’s specifications. We inspect the ignition system, whether it is a hot surface ignitor or a spark ignition, to ensure it is reliable. We check the condition of the blower belt if your system has one. All these checks are designed to identify and address small issues before they turn into a major, inconvenient breakdown in the middle of a cold night.
To ensure your system is running at its peak efficiency, we perform several calibrations and measurements. We will check the gas pressure and make adjustments if necessary to ensure the furnace is burning fuel cleanly and efficiently. We will also check the temperature rise across the system to make sure it is within the proper range, which indicates good airflow. We will inspect your furnace filter and replace it if you have a new one on hand, or show you the correct type to purchase. A clean filter is essential for both efficiency and indoor air quality.
At the conclusion of the maintenance visit, our technician will provide you with a full report of our findings. We will review the health of your system with you and explain everything that we did during the tune-up. If we found any areas of concern or recommend any repairs, we will explain the issue clearly and provide you with an upfront price before doing any additional work. We believe in honest and transparent communication. Our goal is to be your trusted partner, providing you with the information you need to keep your home safe and comfortable.

Common Furnace Maintenance Questions
We understand you have questions about furnace maintenance. Our goal is to provide clear answers about this critical safety and performance service. Below, you will find detailed information on common inquiries.
A professional furnace tune-up from Vortex Air HVAC is a comprehensive service that covers three main areas: cleaning, inspection, and safety. The first step is a thorough cleaning. Our technicians will clean the furnace burners to ensure clean and efficient combustion. We clean the flame sensor or pilot assembly, which is crucial for safe operation. We also clean the blower motor compartment and the furnace cabinet to remove dust and debris that can hinder performance and affect air quality. This detailed cleaning process is the foundation of a good tune-up and helps restore your furnace’s efficiency.
The second part of the service is a detailed mechanical and electrical inspection. We check all moving parts, lubricate motors as needed, and inspect the blower assembly. We test the ignition system to ensure it is reliable. We inspect all electrical connections and tighten them to prevent future failures. We also check and adjust the gas pressure to match the manufacturer’s specifications. This ensures the furnace is not using too much or too little fuel. These inspections are designed to catch wearing parts before they break down.
The final and most important part is the safety check. We perform a very careful visual inspection of the heat exchanger, looking for any cracks or stress fractures that could leak carbon monoxide. We test all the furnace’s safety controls, such as the high-limit switch and rollout switches, to ensure they will shut the system off in an unsafe condition. We also test the air around the furnace for any signs of carbon monoxide. Our multi-point checklist ensures that no detail is overlooked and that your furnace is operating as safely and efficiently as possible.
You should have your furnace professionally serviced and inspected once a year, without fail. The best time to schedule this annual maintenance visit is in the fall, before you need to rely on your furnace to heat your home. A pre-season tune-up ensures that your system is clean, safe, and ready to perform reliably throughout the entire winter. It allows our technicians to identify and fix any potential problems at a convenient time, rather than during an emergency, late-night call in the middle of a January cold snap.
Annual maintenance is not just a recommendation; it is a critical safety procedure. A gas furnace is a fuel-burning appliance that produces carbon monoxide. Over time, components can wear out, and safety issues like a cracked heat exchanger can develop. An annual safety inspection from a trained professional is the only way to be confident that your furnace is operating correctly and not putting your family at risk. For this reason alone, you should never skip your yearly furnace tune-up. It is the most important HVAC service you can get.
Furthermore, just like your car, your furnace is a complex piece of mechanical equipment that requires regular service to run efficiently and last as long as it should. Skipping annual maintenance will lead to a gradual decline in efficiency, resulting in higher energy bills. It will also lead to more frequent breakdowns and will shorten the overall lifespan of the furnace. Most furnace manufacturers also require proof of annual maintenance to keep your warranty valid. Protecting your family’s safety and your financial investment makes annual maintenance an essential task for any responsible homeowner.
Furnace maintenance is the single most important defense against the risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in your home. Carbon monoxide is a natural byproduct of the combustion process that happens inside your furnace. In a properly functioning furnace, this dangerous gas is contained within the heat exchanger and then safely vented out of your home through the flue pipe. A professional maintenance visit includes several critical checks that ensure this process is happening safely. The most important of these is a thorough inspection of the heat exchanger.
Over years of expansion and contraction, the metal of the heat exchanger can develop cracks. A cracked heat exchanger is a direct pathway for carbon monoxide to leak out of the combustion chamber and mix with the heated air that gets distributed throughout your home. Our technicians are trained to perform a detailed visual inspection of the heat exchanger to look for these dangerous cracks. If a crack is found, the furnace is immediately shut down and must be replaced. This inspection is a life-saving procedure.
In addition to the heat exchanger inspection, we also check the furnace’s venting system. We ensure the flue pipe is clear of any obstructions, like bird nests or debris, that could cause CO to back up into your home. We check for proper draft to ensure the exhaust gases are flowing out correctly. We also use sensitive electronic combustion analyzers to measure the composition of the flue gas, which can tell us if the furnace is burning fuel cleanly and safely. These combined safety checks are why an annual professional tune-up is essential for your family’s protection.
While there is one very important maintenance task that every homeowner should do themselves, the vast majority of furnace maintenance should only be performed by a trained and certified professional. The one task you should do is to regularly check and change your furnace filter. A clogged filter restricts airflow, which makes your furnace work harder, reduces efficiency, and can lead to serious damage. You should check your filter every month during the heating season and replace it whenever it is dirty, or at a minimum every three months. This is a simple and effective DIY task.
However, all other maintenance tasks involve a high level of risk and require specialized tools and knowledge. Working on a gas furnace involves interacting with gas lines, high-voltage electricity, and the combustion process. These are not areas for a DIY enthusiast. An incorrect adjustment to the gas pressure, a faulty electrical connection, or a missed safety issue could have catastrophic consequences, including gas leaks, fires, or carbon monoxide poisoning. Our technicians have years of training and expensive, specialized tools to perform these tasks safely and correctly.
A professional technician also knows what to look for. We can spot the subtle signs of a developing problem, like a specific type of soot buildup or a slight change in the flame’s color, that a homeowner would never notice. This ability to diagnose potential issues before they become major failures is a key benefit of a professional tune-up. For your safety and the reliable operation of your furnace, please leave the annual maintenance to the experts at Vortex Air HVAC. Let us handle the technical work to keep you safe.
Investing in an annual furnace tune-up can lead to significant savings on your winter heating bills. A furnace that is dirty and out of tune has to work harder and run longer to produce the same amount of heat. This means it burns more natural gas. According to studies by the U.S. Department of Energy and various utility companies, a regular professional tune-up can improve your furnace’s efficiency by 5% to 15%. This translates directly into lower energy consumption and a lower monthly utility bill.
The savings come from several specific tasks performed during the maintenance. Cleaning the burners ensures that the gas is combusted as efficiently as possible, extracting the maximum amount of heat from the fuel. Cleaning the blower motor and wheel allows them to move air with less effort, reducing electricity consumption. Checking and adjusting the gas pressure ensures the furnace is not being over-fired and wasting fuel. Ensuring the filter is clean and airflow is not restricted is another major factor in maintaining efficiency. All these small adjustments add up to real savings.
While the exact amount you save will depend on the age and initial condition of your furnace, your local utility rates, and the severity of the winter, the savings are often substantial enough to pay for the cost of the maintenance visit itself over the course of a single season. A furnace tune-up is one of the few home services that can actually pay for itself. By scheduling an annual visit from Vortex Air HVAC, you are making a smart financial decision that reduces your energy costs while also improving your system’s safety and reliability.
Even if you have not scheduled your annual tune-up yet, your furnace might give you some clear signs that it is in need of service. One of the most common signs is unusual noises. If you hear loud banging, rattling, squealing, or rumbling sounds when your furnace kicks on, it is a sign that a component is loose, worn out, or struggling. These noises should not be ignored, as they can indicate a developing mechanical problem that could lead to a breakdown. A tune-up can identify and fix the source of these noises.
Another sign is a noticeable increase in your heating bills compared to previous years. If your bills seem unusually high, it is often an indication that your furnace has lost a significant amount of its efficiency. This is usually due to dirty components or a system that is out of calibration. A professional cleaning and tune-up can restore much of that lost efficiency. Similarly, if you notice that your home is not as warm as it used to be or that some rooms are colder than others, it can be a sign of poor furnace performance or airflow issues.
You might also notice that the furnace is cycling on and off more frequently than it used to, or that the air coming from your vents does not feel as warm. An increase in dust in your home can also be a sign of a dirty system or a clogged filter. If the pilot light on an older furnace is yellow instead of blue, this is a serious warning sign of a combustion problem. If you notice any of these signs, you should call Vortex Air HVAC for a maintenance visit and inspection right away.
Yes, absolutely. Regular annual maintenance is one of the most effective things you can do to extend the operational lifespan of your furnace. A furnace is a major investment in your home, and proactive care is the best way to protect that investment. A furnace that is neglected is subjected to much more wear and tear than one that is properly maintained. The added strain of running with dirty components, restricted airflow, and unlubricated parts causes major components like the blower motor and the ignitor to fail prematurely.
During a maintenance visit, our technicians address all these issues. By cleaning components, we reduce the strain on the system. By lubricating moving parts, we reduce friction. By tightening electrical connections, we prevent damaging electrical issues. By changing the filter, we ensure proper airflow, which is critical for the health of the entire system, especially the heat exchanger. All of these small, proactive steps add up to a significant reduction in the overall stress on your furnace. A less-stressed system will simply last longer.
A well-maintained furnace can reliably last 15 to 20 years or even longer. A furnace that is consistently neglected may fail in as little as 10 years, forcing you into a costly and premature replacement. The small annual cost of a professional tune-up is insignificant when compared to the thousands of dollars you would spend to replace your furnace years earlier than you should have to. By investing in annual maintenance with Vortex Air HVAC, you are ensuring that you get the maximum possible life and value out of your heating system.
