They were outstanding. Super responsive without talking to some robot to schedule. They shot right over to the house right away when our AC wasn't working. You want to use them for super quick and great service!
Great company to work with! I felt like they were fair and honest. They were great at communicating with me and getting out to our place fast and working around our schedule! Will be using them again in the future!
I HIGHLY recommend going with Vortex Air HVAC. My original heater in my house (1989) was having issues. I watched a ton of videos and did everything to get it back and working with one caveat. Vortex came and took a look and realized it was a simple quick fix. He didn't charge me anything for it after I insisted I paid him. He then proceeded to to a quick diagnostic to verify everything was working correctly for free. Fantastic customer service. That simple act has won me over as a lifetime customer.
We contacted Vortex Air HVAC when we were installing a vent fan above our stove. The Vortex team came out, climbed up in our attic to cut a hole in our roof to install the ducting for it. Not only did they weather seal around their work, they cleaned the entire mess and was very friendly and professional. Now every year we have them come out and prep our furnace and A/C for the seasons. Thank you Vortex Air for excellent, professional and friendly service everytime. 😁
Quick response time, very knowledgeable, and great pricing. I definitely will be calling vortex next time!
I’ve waited a few weeks to post this review pending my full experience with Vortex air. Recently we had our ac go out, I had multiple big name and a few smaller companies out they all played the same game! Send a “tech” they tell me it’s bad few hours to a day later another “sales” man shows up to quote it.. I called these guys as I had just a coworker refer them. The Owner answered the phone and then showed up to my house within an hour! He then proceeded to give me all the options to even repair! He made thoughtful and valid suggestions on what we can really do to improve air quality as well. Day of install shows up and they were on time and had it all changed and running same day! Pricing was very competitive and not like getting the wind knocked out of you like all the other prices I got. 5 stars for service another 5 for the install and another 5 for the peace of mind we will have coming these next seasons. Thank you vortex!

Commercial Air Purification Service
Our commercial air purification service begins with a detailed assessment of your business’s unique needs. We understand that a retail store has different air quality challenges than an office building, a restaurant, or a healthcare facility. Our experts will visit your property to evaluate your existing HVAC system, your building’s layout, and your specific operational concerns. We discuss your goals, whether they are to reduce allergens, eliminate odors, or provide advanced protection against airborne pathogens. This comprehensive consultation is the foundation for designing a truly effective and customized air purification strategy. We want to understand your business to provide the best solution.
Based on our assessment, we will recommend a tailored combination of air purification technologies. We work with a range of advanced systems, not a one size fits all product. This may include high efficiency media filters, such as MERV-13 or HEPA filters, which are excellent at capturing fine particulate matter like dust, pollen, and viruses. We might also recommend UV-C germicidal light systems, which are installed inside your ductwork or air handler. These powerful lights use ultraviolet radiation to neutralize airborne viruses, bacteria, and mold spores as they pass through the HVAC system. This technology is proven to be highly effective at sanitizing the air.
Another powerful technology we offer is bipolar ionization. These systems are also installed within your HVAC system and work by releasing a high concentration of positive and negative ions into the airstream. These ions travel throughout your building, actively seeking out and neutralizing contaminants in the air and on surfaces. The ions cause particles like viruses, bacteria, and allergens to clump together, making them larger and easier to capture in your system’s filters. This technology also helps to break down odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It is an active purification method that cleans the air in the occupied space itself.
Our professional technicians handle the complete installation of your new air purification system with minimal disruption to your business operations. We integrate the chosen technologies seamlessly into your existing commercial HVAC system. Whether it’s retrofitting your filter racks for higher efficiency filters, installing UV-C lamps in the correct location for maximum exposure, or wiring a new ionization unit, our team performs the work to the highest standards. We ensure all components are installed according to manufacturer specifications for optimal performance and safety. We work cleanly and efficiently to respect your commercial space. Our goal is a flawless integration into your building’s infrastructure.
After installation, we commission the system to ensure it is operating correctly. We will explain how the system works and what, if any, maintenance is required. Many of our systems, like UV-C lights and ionizers, require periodic service, such as lamp or cell replacement, to remain effective. We offer comprehensive service and maintenance plans to keep your air purification system running at peak performance year after year. This ensures your investment continues to provide a healthy and safe environment for your employees and customers. We are your long term partner in maintaining excellent indoor air quality.

Common Commercial Air Purification Questions
We understand you have questions about commercial air purification. Our goal is to provide clear answers to help you make an informed decision for your business. Below, you will find detailed information on common inquiries.
Filtration and purification are two different but often complementary methods of cleaning the air. Filtration is a physical process that involves trapping particles as air passes through a filter medium. The effectiveness of a filter is measured by its MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) rating. A standard filter might be MERV-8, while a high efficiency filter could be MERV-13 or higher. HEPA filters are the gold standard, capturing 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns in size. Filtration is excellent at removing particulate matter like dust, pollen, and dander, but it is a passive process that only cleans the air that passes through the HVAC system.
Air purification, on the other hand, often involves an active process to sanitize the air. Technologies like UV-C germicidal lights and bipolar ionization work to neutralize or destroy contaminants. UV-C light uses ultraviolet radiation to damage the DNA of microorganisms like viruses, bacteria, and mold, rendering them harmless. Bipolar ionization releases charged ions into the space that actively seek out and deactivate pollutants. These purification technologies can address contaminants that are too small for many filters to catch and can work to clean the air and surfaces throughout the building, not just in the ducts.
The most effective commercial air cleaning strategies often use a combination of both high efficiency filtration and active purification. For example, a system might use a MERV-13 filter to capture larger particles, a UV-C light to kill germs in the air handler, and a bipolar ionizer to clean the air in the occupied spaces. This layered, multi-pronged approach provides the most comprehensive protection against the full spectrum of indoor air pollutants. Vortex Air HVAC can design a custom solution for your business that leverages the best of both filtration and purification technologies.
VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds, are gases that are emitted from a wide variety of materials and products commonly found in commercial buildings. Sources of VOCs can include paints, cleaning supplies, office furniture, carpeting, adhesives, and office equipment like printers and copiers. Common VOCs include formaldehyde, benzene, and toluene. High concentrations of these chemicals can cause a range of health problems, from headaches and eye irritation to more serious long term health effects. They are a major component of indoor air pollution and can also be responsible for unpleasant chemical odors.
Standard particulate filters, even high efficiency ones, are not effective at removing VOCs because they are gases, not solid particles. To remove VOCs, you need specialized air purification technologies. One of the most effective methods is using activated carbon filters. These filters contain a bed of activated carbon, which has millions of tiny pores that adsorb the VOC gas molecules, trapping them and removing them from the air. Carbon filters can be integrated into your existing HVAC system and are excellent at removing both VOCs and odors.
Another effective technology for dealing with VOCs is bipolar ionization. The charged ions produced by these systems can break down the molecular structure of many VOCs, converting them into harmless compounds like water vapor and carbon dioxide. This technology actively works to neutralize these harmful gases throughout your commercial space. Vortex Air HVAC can assess the potential sources of VOCs in your business and recommend the best solution, whether it’s an activated carbon filtration system, a bipolar ionizer, or a combination of technologies to ensure your air is free from these harmful chemicals.
A UV-C light system is a powerful air purification technology that uses a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light (254 nanometers) to sanitize the air. This UV-C light is germicidal, meaning it is capable of inactivating microorganisms like viruses, bacteria, and mold spores. The UV-C lamps are professionally installed inside your commercial HVAC system’s air handler or ductwork. As air is forced through the system, it passes through the zone of intense UV-C light. This exposure damages the DNA and RNA of any airborne pathogens, destroying their ability to reproduce and cause illness.
There are two primary ways UV-C lights are used in an HVAC system. The first is for coil irradiation. In this application, the lights are focused on the surface of the indoor evaporator coil and drain pan. These are cool, damp areas that are prime breeding grounds for mold and bacteria. The constant UV-C light exposure prevents any microbial growth from forming on these surfaces, which keeps the system clean and prevents contaminants from being introduced into the airstream. This also helps to maintain the efficiency of your HVAC unit.
The second application is for airborne disinfection. In this setup, more powerful UV-C lamps are installed in the main ductwork to sanitize the air as it circulates. To be effective, the air needs to have a sufficient “dwell time” in the UV light, meaning it needs to be exposed for a long enough period to be sanitized. Our experts will calculate the correct number and placement of lamps based on the size of your ducts and the velocity of your airflow. When properly installed, a UV-C system is a safe, chemical free, and highly effective way to continuously reduce the level of harmful germs in your building’s air.
Bipolar ionization is an active air purification technology that works by cleaning the air in the occupied space itself. The system consists of one or more ionization units that are installed in your commercial HVAC system’s supply ductwork. As air passes over the unit, it uses high voltage electrodes to create a cloud of millions of positive and negative ions, which are then distributed throughout your building via the duct system. This process is similar to how lightning naturally cleans the air outdoors. The ions are completely harmless to people, pets, and equipment.
Once in the space, these charged ions get to work cleaning the air. They are attracted to airborne particles like dust, pollen, smoke, and even viruses and bacteria. When the ions attach to these particles, they cause them to clump together. This process, called agglomeration, makes the particles larger and heavier. These larger particles are then more easily captured by your HVAC system’s filters as the air recirculates. This process effectively removes many of the smallest and most dangerous particles from the air you breathe.
Bipolar ionization also works to neutralize pathogens and odors. For viruses and bacteria, the ions can rob them of the hydrogen atoms they need to survive, deactivating them. The ions can also break down the chemical bonds of VOCs and odor molecules, converting them into inert compounds. Because this is an active technology that fills the entire space, it can also help to reduce contaminants on surfaces, not just in the air. It is a powerful, proactive technology for creating a comprehensively cleaner and healthier indoor environment for your business.
Yes, investing in commercial air purification can have a direct and positive impact on employee productivity and your bottom line. Numerous studies have shown a clear link between indoor air quality and cognitive function. When employees are breathing clean air, free from high levels of carbon dioxide, VOCs, and other pollutants, they are able to think more clearly, focus better, and make fewer errors. A study from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that employees in a green building with enhanced ventilation and low VOCs scored significantly higher on tests of cognitive function.
Poor indoor air quality can lead to a condition known as “sick building syndrome,” with symptoms like headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat. These symptoms can be very distracting and can significantly reduce an employee’s ability to perform their job effectively. By removing the contaminants that cause these issues, commercial air purification can lead to a more comfortable and productive workforce. A healthier environment directly translates to better work output.
Furthermore, a clean air environment can reduce employee absenteeism. By actively reducing the presence of airborne viruses and bacteria, air purification systems can lower the rate of transmission of illnesses like colds, the flu, and other respiratory infections within the workplace. Fewer sick days mean more continuity in your operations and less lost productivity. Investing in the health of your employees through air purification is an investment in the overall health and success of your business. It fosters a positive work environment where employees feel valued and can perform at their best.
The maintenance costs for a commercial air purification system are generally quite reasonable and represent a small investment for the significant benefits they provide. The specific maintenance requirements and costs will depend on the type of technology installed. For systems that rely on high efficiency filtration, the primary ongoing cost is the regular replacement of the filters. MERV-13 or carbon filters typically need to be replaced every three to six months, depending on the specifics of your environment. We can include filter changes as part of a regular HVAC maintenance contract for your convenience.
For active purification systems like UV-C lights, the main maintenance task is replacing the UV lamps. UV-C lamps have a limited effective lifespan, typically around one to two years of continuous operation. After this time, while the lamp may still light up, its germicidal UV output will have degraded to a point where it is no longer effective. Regular lamp replacement is crucial to ensure the system continues to sanitize the air properly. Our technicians can track your lamp life and schedule replacements as needed.
For bipolar ionization systems, the maintenance is also straightforward. The ionization cells or needles need to be periodically inspected and cleaned to remove any accumulated dust, which can impede their performance. Depending on the model, the ionizer cells may also need to be replaced every two to four years. Overall, the maintenance for these advanced systems is minimal and predictable. When you consider the benefits of improved health, productivity, and customer confidence, the ongoing maintenance costs for commercial air purification represent an excellent value and a wise business investment.
Absolutely. Commercial air purification offers unique and valuable benefits for customer facing businesses like restaurants and retail stores. For restaurants, one of the biggest challenges is controlling odors. Cooking smoke, grease, and various food smells can linger in the air and create an unpleasant dining experience. Air purification technologies like activated carbon filters and bipolar ionization are extremely effective at neutralizing these odors, ensuring your dining room always smells fresh and clean. A clean smelling environment is critical for customer perception and satisfaction.
In both retail and restaurant settings, creating a healthier environment can be a major draw for customers. By installing air purification, you can significantly reduce the amount of airborne dust, allergens, and germs in your space. This creates a more comfortable and reassuring experience for shoppers and diners, especially those with allergies or health concerns. In today’s market, customers are more aware than ever of the importance of indoor air quality. Advertising that you have invested in an advanced air purification system can be a powerful marketing tool that sets you apart from your competitors.
A cleaner environment is also better for your employees. In a retail setting, “retail dust” from clothing fibers and cardboard can be a constant issue. In a restaurant, staff are exposed to cooking fumes and high traffic from the public. Improving the air quality can lead to healthier, happier, and more energetic employees, which directly translates to better customer service. Whether it is by eliminating odors, visibly reducing dust, or providing a healthier space, commercial air purification can enhance the customer experience, improve employee well being, and ultimately boost your business’s reputation and success.
