They were outstanding. Super responsive without talking to some robot to schedule. They shot right over to the house right away when our AC wasn't working. You want to use them for super quick and great service!
Great company to work with! I felt like they were fair and honest. They were great at communicating with me and getting out to our place fast and working around our schedule! Will be using them again in the future!
I HIGHLY recommend going with Vortex Air HVAC. My original heater in my house (1989) was having issues. I watched a ton of videos and did everything to get it back and working with one caveat. Vortex came and took a look and realized it was a simple quick fix. He didn't charge me anything for it after I insisted I paid him. He then proceeded to to a quick diagnostic to verify everything was working correctly for free. Fantastic customer service. That simple act has won me over as a lifetime customer.
We contacted Vortex Air HVAC when we were installing a vent fan above our stove. The Vortex team came out, climbed up in our attic to cut a hole in our roof to install the ducting for it. Not only did they weather seal around their work, they cleaned the entire mess and was very friendly and professional. Now every year we have them come out and prep our furnace and A/C for the seasons. Thank you Vortex Air for excellent, professional and friendly service everytime. 😁
Quick response time, very knowledgeable, and great pricing. I definitely will be calling vortex next time!
I’ve waited a few weeks to post this review pending my full experience with Vortex air. Recently we had our ac go out, I had multiple big name and a few smaller companies out they all played the same game! Send a “tech” they tell me it’s bad few hours to a day later another “sales” man shows up to quote it.. I called these guys as I had just a coworker refer them. The Owner answered the phone and then showed up to my house within an hour! He then proceeded to give me all the options to even repair! He made thoughtful and valid suggestions on what we can really do to improve air quality as well. Day of install shows up and they were on time and had it all changed and running same day! Pricing was very competitive and not like getting the wind knocked out of you like all the other prices I got. 5 stars for service another 5 for the install and another 5 for the peace of mind we will have coming these next seasons. Thank you vortex!

Air Duct Cleaning Service
The air duct cleaning process at Vortex Air HVAC begins with a thorough inspection of your home’s ductwork system. Our certified technicians will arrive and first explain the entire process to you, answering any initial questions you may have. We then conduct a visual inspection of the ducts, often using specialized cameras to see deep inside the system. This allows us to assess the level of contamination and identify any potential issues like leaks or damage. This initial step helps us tailor our cleaning approach to your specific needs. We want you to see the condition of your ducts before we begin our work. Our commitment is to transparency and education throughout the service.
Before the cleaning begins, our team takes great care to protect your home. We use protective floor coverings and guard your corners to prevent any scuffs or damage. We then seal off all your supply and return air registers with adhesive covers. This is a critical step that ensures the dust and debris we dislodge does not escape into your living space during the cleaning process. Our goal is to contain all contaminants and remove them from your home completely. The only thing we want to leave behind is a clean duct system and pristine air. Your home’s cleanliness is a top priority for our team.
The core of our service involves creating powerful negative pressure within your duct system. We connect a large, high-powered vacuum and collection unit to your main trunk lines near your furnace or air handler. This industrial strength machine is designed specifically for duct cleaning and is powerful enough to pull all loosened debris out of the ductwork and into a contained filtration system. This constant negative pressure is what prevents dust from spreading through your home. It acts like a powerful cyclone, ensuring that once debris is broken free, its only path is out of your house and into our collector. This is the professional standard for effective duct cleaning.
With the vacuum running, our technicians work on each individual duct run. We uncover one register at a time and insert specialized agitation tools into the ductwork. These tools include high pressure air whips and powerful rotating brushes that travel through the entire length of the duct. These devices aggressively scrub the interior surfaces of the ducts, breaking loose all the caked on dust, dirt, pet dander, and other debris. This combination of agitation and powerful suction is what makes our process so effective. It is a one two punch that dislodges and then immediately removes contaminants. We meticulously clean every single supply and return duct in your home.
In addition to cleaning the duct runs, we also pay close attention to other components of your HVAC system. We will thoroughly clean the blower motor, fan, and housing within your furnace or air handler. These components can become caked with dust, which reduces efficiency and can shorten the motor’s lifespan. We also clean the grilles and registers that cover your duct openings. This ensures that every part of your forced air system that comes into contact with your air is cleaned. A truly comprehensive cleaning addresses the entire system, not just the ducts themselves. We believe in being thorough for the best possible results.
After all the ducts and system components have been cleaned, our technicians will conduct a final inspection. We may use our camera system again to show you the difference our cleaning has made. We will remove all the register seals and our protective coverings, leaving your home just as we found it, but with much cleaner air. We will then test your HVAC system to ensure it is running properly. Our technician will review the service with you and provide recommendations for keeping your ducts clean in the future, such as using high quality air filters. Your satisfaction with our work is guaranteed.
The benefits of our professional air duct cleaning service are numerous. You and your family will enjoy improved indoor air quality, with a significant reduction in airborne allergens and irritants. Many homeowners also notice a decrease in the amount of dust that settles on their furniture. A clean duct system can also improve the efficiency of your HVAC system by allowing for better airflow, which can lead to lower energy bills. Furthermore, cleaning removes any unpleasant, musty odors that may have been originating from the ductwork. Our proven process, which follows the highest industry standards, guarantees a thorough and effective cleaning every time.

Common Air Duct Cleaning Questions
We understand you have questions about air duct cleaning. Our goal is to provide clear and helpful answers about this important home maintenance service. Below, you will find detailed information on common inquiries from our customers.
There are several clear signs that indicate your air ducts may be due for a professional cleaning. One of the most obvious indicators is if you can see a significant amount of dust and debris built up inside your ducts or blowing out of your supply registers. If you remove a register cover and find the inside of the duct is heavily coated with dust, it is a good time to schedule a cleaning. Another visible sign is the presence of mold. If you see what appears to be mold growth around your registers or inside your ductwork, you should call a professional immediately, as mold spores can be a serious health hazard.
Unexplained respiratory issues or a sudden increase in allergy symptoms among your family members can also point to contaminated ducts. If people in your home are experiencing more sneezing, coughing, or sinus congestion than usual without an apparent cause, your ductwork could be circulating allergens like dust mites, pollen, and pet dander. Similarly, if your home seems to accumulate dust very quickly, forcing you to dust your furniture more often than you used to, it is likely due to dirty ducts blowing dust particles into your living spaces. A professional cleaning can significantly reduce the amount of airborne dust in your home.
Other signs include a recent home renovation, evidence of rodent or insect infestation in your ducts, or musty odors coming from your vents when the HVAC system runs. Construction projects create a massive amount of fine dust that can easily be pulled into your duct system. If you have just moved into a new home and do not know the history of the ductwork, a cleaning is also a good idea for a fresh start. Vortex Air HVAC can perform a professional inspection to help you determine if a cleaning is necessary for your home. We provide honest feedback and recommendations.
As a general guideline, industry experts recommend that homeowners have their air ducts professionally cleaned every three to five years. This is a good general guideline for maintaining a healthy indoor environment and an efficient HVAC system. However, the ideal frequency for your specific home can vary depending on several factors. If you have pets that shed a lot of hair and dander, you may want to consider having your ducts cleaned more frequently, perhaps every two to three years. Pet dander is a common allergen that can build up quickly in ductwork.
Families with members who suffer from allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions may also benefit from more frequent cleanings. Reducing the amount of airborne dust, pollen, and other irritants circulating through the home can provide significant relief for sensitive individuals. Similarly, if you have smokers in the household, you may want to schedule cleanings more often to help remove smoke residue and odors from the duct system. The goal is to maintain the best possible indoor air quality for your family’s health and comfort. A proactive cleaning schedule can help achieve this.
Certain life events can also warrant an immediate duct cleaning, regardless of when they were last serviced. If you have recently completed a major home renovation or remodeling project, a cleaning is highly recommended to remove the large amounts of construction dust that have inevitably settled in your ducts. Likewise, if you have discovered and addressed a rodent or insect infestation, it is crucial to clean the ducts to remove any nests, droppings, and other contaminants. After any water damage or mold remediation, a duct cleaning is also an essential final step. We can help you determine the best cleaning schedule for your unique situation.
The professional air duct cleaning process used by Vortex Air HVAC is a systematic and thorough method designed to safely and effectively remove contaminants from your ductwork. The process begins with our technicians protecting your home by laying down drop cloths and then sealing all of your air vents. We then connect a powerful, truck mounted or portable vacuum system to your main duct lines. This creates strong negative pressure throughout the entire duct system, ensuring that any dust and debris that is loosened is immediately pulled into our collection unit. This containment is a key part of a professional service, preventing pollutants from entering your home.
Once the system is under negative pressure, our technicians work on each duct individually. We use specialized tools, such as rotating brushes and high pressure air whips, which are inserted into the ducts to agitate and dislodge all the caked on debris. These tools scrub the interior surfaces of the ducts, from the vent cover all the way to the main trunk line. This combination of aggressive scrubbing and powerful suction is highly effective at removing even the most stubborn buildup. We methodically clean every supply and return air duct in your home, ensuring a comprehensive result. We ensure every inch of your ductwork is addressed.
In addition to the ducts themselves, our comprehensive service includes cleaning other important HVAC system components. We clean the blower motor, housing, and fan, as these parts can become caked with dust and affect system efficiency. We also clean your vent registers and grilles. After the cleaning is complete, we remove our equipment and seals, clean up our work area, and conduct a final inspection to ensure you are completely satisfied. Our proven process, which adheres to stringent professional standards, guarantees a thorough and effective cleaning every time. We leave your system cleaner and your air healthier.
When performed by a trained and reputable professional like Vortex Air HVAC, air duct cleaning is not a messy process. A key hallmark of a professional cleaning service is the meticulous care taken to protect your home and contain all the dust and debris. Before we begin, our technicians lay down protective coverings on your floors and furniture in the work areas. We are extremely careful to ensure our equipment does not damage your walls or belongings. Our goal is to leave your home as clean as or cleaner than when we arrived.
The most critical part of preventing a mess is the use of a powerful vacuum and collection system that creates negative pressure in the ducts. This means air is being constantly pulled from your ducts into our sealed collection unit. While we are using brushes and air whips to scrub the inside of the ducts, this powerful suction ensures that all the loosened particles are immediately captured and removed from your home. We also seal all the vents that are not currently being worked on, which further prevents any dust from escaping into your living space. This containment is what separates a professional job from a poor quality one.
Amateur or “blow and go” companies that use inadequate equipment, like a simple shop vacuum, cannot create the necessary negative pressure to contain the debris. This can result in more dust being blown into your house than was removed. With Vortex Air HVAC, you can be confident that we have the proper, state of the art equipment and the right procedures to perform the job cleanly and effectively. We take every precaution to ensure the process is mess free and that the only result you see is a cleaner, healthier home environment. Your satisfaction and the cleanliness of your home are our top priorities.
While improved indoor air quality is the primary benefit of duct cleaning, many homeowners do experience a reduction in their energy bills as a result. This potential for energy savings comes from improving the overall efficiency of your HVAC system. Over time, the buildup of dust and debris in your ductwork can restrict airflow. This forces your furnace or air conditioner’s fan motor to work harder to push conditioned air throughout your home. When the motor has to work harder, it consumes more electricity, which leads to higher utility bills. A clean duct system allows for smooth, unrestricted airflow.
By removing these obstructions, professional duct cleaning allows your HVAC system to operate more efficiently. Your system will not have to run as long or as hard to heat or cool your home to the desired temperature. Additionally, our comprehensive cleaning service includes cleaning the blower motor and fan blades. A clean blower fan can move more air with less effort, further contributing to energy savings. When components like the evaporator coil in your air conditioner become clogged with dust that has traveled through dirty ducts, their ability to transfer heat is reduced, which also drastically decreases efficiency.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notes that while data is still emerging, it is logical to assume that a cleaner system will run more efficiently. By removing the layers of dust and debris, you are restoring your HVAC system closer to its original, factory clean condition. While we cannot guarantee a specific percentage of energy savings, as it depends on how dirty the system was to begin with, a cleaner system will undoubtedly be a more efficient system. This improved efficiency can translate into real savings on your monthly heating and cooling costs. It is an added bonus to the primary benefit of cleaner air.
The amount of time it takes to professionally clean a home’s air duct system typically ranges from two to four hours. This timeframe can vary depending on several factors, including the size of your home, the number of vents, and the accessibility of your ductwork. A smaller home with a straightforward duct layout might be on the shorter end of that range, while a larger, multi story home with a more complex system will take longer. Our team at Vortex Air HVAC will be able to provide you with a more precise time estimate for your specific home when you schedule your service. We always allocate enough time to do the job thoroughly.
The level of contamination within the ducts can also affect the duration of the cleaning. If the ducts have not been cleaned in many years or have been subjected to factors like a recent renovation, they may require more intensive cleaning, which can add time to the process. Our technicians work diligently and efficiently, but our primary focus is on quality, not speed. We will take the necessary time to ensure that every duct is meticulously cleaned and that all contaminants are removed from your home. We do not believe in cutting corners. A proper cleaning cannot be rushed.
When our technicians arrive, they will walk you through the process and confirm the expected timeframe. We work systematically to minimize disruption to your household. Our goal is to complete the cleaning efficiently while delivering the highest quality results. You can trust that our team will work professionally and respect your time and property throughout the service. We are committed to providing a convenient and effective service experience from start to finish. We ensure the job is done right, no matter how long it takes.
Yes, when performed by a qualified and experienced company like Vortex Air HVAC using the proper equipment, air duct cleaning is completely safe for all types of ductwork. We use tools and techniques that are designed to be tough on dirt and debris but gentle on your ducts. Our rotating brushes have soft bristles that effectively scrub the interior surfaces without causing any scratches, punctures, or other damage to sheet metal, flex duct, or fiberboard ducts. Our technicians are highly trained in the proper use of all our agitation tools. We understand how to clean different types of ductwork safely by following established industry best practices.
The key to a safe cleaning is using the right equipment and professional procedures. Companies that use oversized or overly aggressive tools can potentially cause damage, such as tearing flex duct or breaking seals at joints. At Vortex Air HVAC, we use state of the art equipment that is appropriately sized for residential duct systems. Our technicians have the expertise to navigate the complexities of your home’s duct layout without causing any harm. We treat your HVAC system with the utmost care and professionalism. Your property’s integrity is paramount to us. We have the right tools for the job.
Before we begin any cleaning, we conduct a visual inspection of your ductwork. If we identify any pre-existing issues, such as loose connections or damage, we will bring them to your attention before we proceed. This ensures that you are fully aware of the condition of your system. You can have complete confidence that our cleaning process will improve your system, not harm it. We stand behind the safety and effectiveness of our work. Our goal is to leave your ductwork cleaner, more efficient, and in excellent condition. We prioritize a safe and thorough cleaning every time.
Attempting to clean your own ducts with a standard shop vacuum is highly discouraged and largely ineffective. The primary reason is that a shop vacuum lacks the power to create the necessary negative pressure throughout your entire ductwork system. Professional duct cleaning relies on a massive vacuum that pulls thousands of cubic feet of air per minute. This creates a powerful suction that ensures all dust and debris loosened inside the ducts is immediately captured. A shop vacuum is simply not powerful enough to do this. Instead of removing debris, you are likely to just stir it up.
Furthermore, a DIY approach lacks the proper agitation tools needed to dislodge contaminants. Professional services use specialized rotating brushes and high pressure air whips that scrub the interior surfaces of the ducts. Simply sticking a vacuum hose into a vent will only remove loose debris from the first few feet of that duct run. The caked on dust, pollen, and other allergens deeper in the system will be left untouched. Without agitation, you are not truly cleaning the ducts; you are just performing a very superficial removal. This leaves the majority of the problem behind.
The most significant risk of using a shop vacuum is that you can actually make your home’s air quality worse. Without proper negative pressure and containment, the dust you dislodge will become airborne and spread throughout your house. You can end up releasing more contaminants into your living space than you remove. Professional companies seal all vents and use a contained system to prevent this cross contamination. For a truly effective and safe cleaning that improves air quality, you need the specialized equipment and expertise of a professional like Vortex Air HVAC. DIY methods simply cannot compare.
